Parliament in recess; Bonfire Night and Paris strike the main watch points

The national terrorism threat level remains SEVERE. Westminster is quieter with both Houses in recess. London's main considerations are morning District line delays, Bonfire Night this evening and Stevie Wonder at The O2. Paris faces a national strike and march from 14:00 local time.

  • Threat level SEVERE: a national assessment, not a specific warning for any London location. Unchanged since 30 April 2026.
  • Commons and Lords are in recess. Short traffic holds at Broad Sanctuary until 15:00 for the Field of Remembrance Service.
  • District line severe delays between Turnham Green and Richmond at 06:08 GMT. Suffragette line closure continues to 10 November.
  • Stevie Wonder at The O2 tonight, doors 18:30. Bonfire Night activity across London this evening.
  • Paris: national strike and march today. Expect metro station closures near the route and reduced RER B, C and D services.

Consider: Recheck TfL status before dispatch, especially the District line. Plan evening routes away from fireworks displays and North Greenwich dispersal. Clients travelling to Paris: avoid Boulevard Voltaire and plan around metro closures.

Compiled from public sources checked at 06:08 GMT on 5 November 2026. Live transport and policing feeds change quickly, so verify them before relying on this for movement.

UK & LondonDaily brief

Westminster and North Greenwich the main activity points

The national terrorism threat level remains SEVERE. Westminster and North Greenwich are the two principal confirmed activity points for the day.

  • Threat level SEVERE: a national assessment, not a specific warning for any London location.
  • Both Houses sit. Commons questions from 11:30 and Prime Minister's Questions at 12:00 make Westminster a confirmed daytime activity point.
  • The Suffragette line remains closed between South Tottenham and Barking Riverside through 10 November.
  • Korn plays The O2 this evening, doors 18:30. Allow for localised crowds at North Greenwich on arrival and dispersal.
  • Met Office: sunny spells, isolated showers and fresh easterly winds, with a maximum around 12°C.

Consider: Obtain live TfL status before any dispatch, confirm police conditions and road access, and keep routes flexible around Westminster and major venues.

Compiled from public sources. Live transport and policing feeds were not fully verified at the time of writing, so check them before relying on this for movement.
